Irma Krapohl

Irma Krapohl of Caro, formerly of Coleman, passed away Dec. 2, 2011 at the age of 93. The daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Schaberg) Kern was born in Reese on September 27, 1918. She married Bill Krapohl on July 11, 1942. He predeceased her on June 26, 1986. Together they owned the Bungalow Restaurant in Coleman for many years. Irma then retired from Dow Chemical Corp. in Midland. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sanford and Caro. In retirement, Irma enjoyed golf, traveling, and her family. Left to cherish Irmas memory are three children and their spouses, Kern & Dea Krapohl of St. Joseph, Karla & Vince Castellanos of Freeland, Kelly & Harold Avery of Caro; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Irene Kern of Reese and Helen Kern of Bay City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will take place on Thursday in Clare. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00AM.
