Irvin J. Harris, age 87, of Caseville, died Monday, August 17, 2009 at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City after a long illness.

Irvin was born September 5, 1921 in Pinson Fork, Kentucky to the late Robert and Oma (Smith) Harris. He grew up and attended school in McVeigh, Kentucky. He moved to Michigan in 1949. On August 18, 1951 he married Virginia Webb in Detroit. They moved to Hazel Park and raised their family there. Irvin retired from the City of Troy Engineering Dept. in 1983. In 1989 they moved to Caseville.

Irvin was a member of the Caseville Eagles FOE #3690 and the Hazel Park Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Jenny; children Bobbie (Brian) Koczak of Hadley, Rosemary (Rob) Edwards of Metamora, Linda (E.Jay) Ferguson of Dryden, John (Gina) of Lennon and Jody (Sharon) of Clinton Twp; grandchildren Robert, Tina, Candice, Patrick, Jay, Elesha, Kyle and Adam; great-grandchildren Joslyn and Landon; brother Roby (Carol) of Fowlerville and sisters Bea Bostic of Arizona, Dolly Smith and Imogene (Wilson) Anderson both of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Gerry Bakka, Hathleen Livingston and Noleane Mahan, and brothers Bill and Jim.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 20th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with staff chaplain Karen Bouverette officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Twp. Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be an Eagles Ritual at 5:00 PM.
