Iva Bell

Iva Bell, age 92, passed away peacefully Friday morning June 15, 2007 at Bennetts Touch of Home in Caro, following a brief illness. She was born July 6, 1914 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Warren & Bertha (Loomis) ODell. Iva graduated from Cass City High School in 1932, the Tuscola County Normal in 1933, and Central Michigan University in 1957. She was an elementary teacher in several Tuscola and Genesee County schools for over 29 years, retiring in 1976. Iva married Floyd E. Bell on December 25, 1934 at her parents home near Cass City. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2003. One of Ivas hobbies was crocheting and she made many Afghans for family and friends, right up to May of this year. Iva is survived by two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Dean & Sandy Bell of Caro, Doug & Donna Bell of Lakeland, FL, Norma & Bill Cartwright of Caro; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one brother and his wife, Dr. Clair & Martha ODell of Inkster and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Iva was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Madelyn Marie Bell in 1936, three sisters and four brothers.
