Jack E. Garrison of Caro, age 94, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Jack was born September 25, 1924 in Alma, the son of the late Floyd and Fannie (McAlpine) Garrison and was a 1943 graduate of Fairgrove High School. Jack attended the Fairgrove United Methodist Church and retired from Saginaw Steering Gear (Nexteer). He was an avid bowler and softball player, enjoyed playing the lottery and cards, especially euchre and poker, which he continued to play at the medical care facility, and watching sports on television. Jack is survived by, Dorothea; four children and their spouses, JoAnn Stroffolino of Tallahassee, Florida, Thom & Karen Garrison of Sebewaing, Kelly & Tracy Jackson of Saginaw, Kim Nowland of Vassar; eight grandchildren, Morgan and Kasey Jackson, Amanda and Libby Nowland, Victoria and Marcello Stroffolino and Luke (Katrina) Garrison, and Sara Garrison; one great-grandchild, Caleb; two sisters, Alice & Dick Starkey of Fairgrove, Betty Koonce of West Bloomfield. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue; brother, Bob Garrison, and son-in-law, Joseph Stroffolino. In keeping with Jack's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Fairgrove United Methodist Church with Rev. Penny Parkin officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Fairgrove United Methodist Church.
