Jackie I Steele, age 67, of Elkton, died Saturday evening, August 20, at her home while under hospice care.
She was born June 26, 1949, in Detroit to the late Larry and Georgia (Kenny) LeBlanc and moved to Huron County shortly after she was married, where she raised her family.
Jackie was an owner/operator of her own semi, driving for United Van lines moving company for many years. She later worked at Hoffmaster Corporation in Detroit, Hamil Mfg, Bad Axe and more recently worked at Courtney Manor in laundry. She was a member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary, Indian trails riding club and had a true love for horses, boarding them for others. Jackie loved to entertain family and friends and she nearly always beat everyone playing pool.
Surviving are two children, Jamie(Curt) Wolschlager of Elkton and June (Lloyd) Fritz of Gagetown; five grandchildren, Michael (Niki) Wolschlager, Kayla Wolschlager, Duncan Karl, Samual Fritz and Aaron Fritz; siblings, Charlene LeBlanc of Elkton, Christine St. Jean of Florida, Larry (Mark) LeBlanc of Nevada and Patricia Maus of Harper Woods and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Harvey Hamblen; a sister, Joyce Holder and her brother, Richard LeBlanc.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton where friends may call from 2 to 8 PM on Tuesday and after 10 AM Wednesday.
