Jacqueline Wilson

Jacqueline J. Wilson, age 82, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at Vada Villa AFC Home in Unionville, following a lingering illness. Jackie was born December 4, 1929 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Loren & Florence (Chapman) Phelps and graduated from Mayville High School with the class of 1948. She was united in marriage with Bernard I. Wilson on November 17, 1952 in Angola, Indiana, and the couple was able to celebrate the blessing of sixty years together earlier this month. In her younger years, Jackie was employed with the Mayville Monitor and Wilsie-Kelly Chevrolet and Cadillac in Caro, the latter position leading to the chance encounter with her future husband and lifes love. She would later work for Caro Finance as a clerk and B. I. Wilson Real Estate as a secretary. Jackie will be best remembered as a devoted wife and mother that always placed work behind the care of her family. She was a member of the Presbyterian faith and enjoyed cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles and watching Tiger baseball games. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Bernard I. Wilson of Caro; two children and their spouses, Carla & James Hickie of Saginaw Township, Brian & Karmen Wilson of Lapeer; five grandchildren and their spouses, Veronica Guigar of Caseville, Mellissa Hickie of Saginaw Township, Michelle Wilson of Port Huron, Brian & Misty Wilson, Jr. of Saginaw Township, Brandon & Candice Wilson of Lapeer; six great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, L. Richard & Connie Phelps of Clio; and many nieces and nephews. The entire Wilson family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Vada Villa AFC Home for their kind and compassionate care of Jackie for more than three years. Jackies life will be celebrated with a memorial service on her 83rd birthday, Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Russell Tibbits officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association.
