Jacquelyn Luther

Jacquelyn Luther of Caro, age 80, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw. She was born March 19, 1933 in Akron, the daughter of the late Frank and Sylvia (Bell) Rose. She graduated from Bay City Handy High School, and on April 11, 1953 was united in marriage with Robert Luther in Bay City. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1999. The Luther's lived in Tuscola County, moved to Detroit and returned to Caro. In addition to raising a large family, she worked in factories in Detroit and Caro, was a school bus aid for Head Start, and has been a greeter at the Caro Walmart for twelve years. Jackie enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, quilting, crocheting, and playing bingo. Jackie is survived by her children, Audrey & Mike Behrens of Caro, Lynn & Joan Luther of Brownstown, Alan & Shelly Luther of Caro, David & Tina Luther of Akron, Jacquelyn & Bryan Hall of Fairgrove, Brenda & Scot Severn of Caro; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Milton & Edith Winters of Bay City, Edward Rose of Pinconning; two sisters, Margaret & Don Ostermann of Farmerville, Louisiana and Hazel Ancliff of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jacquelyn was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Rose Luther; a son, Milton Luther; as well as her remaining siblings. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Burial will follow in Hickory Island Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Heart Associations of Michigan or the American Diabetes Association.
