Jae Andersen

Jae Andersen of Caro, age 94, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Florida. Jae was born July 18, 1922 in Dundee, Scotland, the daughter of the late William & Jessie (Grossett) Gordon, coming to Detroit two months later with her parents. After graduating from high shool, Jae went to work for Detroit Edison Company in Detroit for about six years where she met and later married George E. Andersen on March 1, 1947 in Highland Park. After a variety of transfers, George and Jae were assigned to the Caro DTE office in 1972 and they have lived in Caro since. Jae enjoyed playing golf and a good hand of Bridge. Surviving besides her husband George, are one son and his wife, David & Annette Andersen of Iron Mountain; one daughter-in law, Joanne Andersen of Thomas Township in Saginaw; five grandchildren and their spouses, Lara & Tim Worden of Iron Station, North Carolina, David & Jamie Andersen of Davenport, Iowa, Jeffrey Andersen of St. Joseph, Scott Andersen of Boston, Massachusetts. Megan Andersen of Nashville, Tennessee; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jae was preceded in death by one son, Craig Andersen, on October 1, 1999; and by one brother and sister-in-law, William C. & Barbara Gordon. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Caro First Presbyterian Church with Nicholas Schmelter officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A funeral luncheon will follow the service at the church.
