James A. Richards

James A. Richards, age 73, of Cass City, died Wednesday morning December 23, at Tender Care, Cass City.

Born August 6, 1936, in Cleveland, OH to the late Asa and Marietta (Maier) Richards, he was a direct descendent of William T. Richards.

He was united in marriage to Sunny Horton in Sacramento, CA in 1958.

Jim served in the U.S Air Force for four years and was a Regional Sales Manager for Nationwide Insurance in Williamsburg , VA. He retired from Nationwide in 1987 after 32 years of service. In 2006, he moved to Cass City to be nearer his family.

Surviving are his former wife and best friend, Sunny, three children, Traci Richards of Cass City, Darcy "Aderet" White of Cass City and Jeff (Susan) Richards of Silver Springs, MD; 12 grandchildren, Beau, Matt, Erica, James, Summer, Jenny, Jonathan, Isaac, Serena, Daniel, Joseph and Benjamin and two great grandchildren, Christian and Kala.

Jim was greatly loved by his friends and family and will always be remembered for his strong mind and big heart, the mischievous twinkle in his blue eyes, and his brick outhouse.

The family will be having a private memorial to share remembrances.
