James A. Bauman, age 86, of Caseville, died January 19, 2008 at Huron County Medical Care Facility, in Bad Axe after a lengthy illness.
He was born August 8, 1921 in Detroit to the late Frank and Ludmilla (Marko) Bauman. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Redford VFW.
James was employed by the Great Scott supermarket chain in the Detroit area. He retired as a store manager, in 1987, after which time he was able to devote more time to his lifelong passion for reading, which he enjoyed until the time of his death. He had lived the last several years of his life with his daughter in Caseville.
Surviving are his children Karen (Howard) May of Caseville, Linda (Tim) Brown of Novi, Michael (Cindy) of White Lake, and Christopher (Patrice) of West Bloomfield; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth and son Mark.
Private family services will be held in the spring. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville.
