James Brown

James Joseph Brown, age 59, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his home. Jim was born February 25, 1953 in Pigeon, the son of the late Royce D. & Delphine (Klopf) Brown. Following graduation from Elkton-Pigeon-Bayport High School, and following his service with the Navy, Jim enrolled at Ferris State College in 1975 and earned his Registered Nurse degree. He returned to the Thumb area to work at Hills & Dales Hospital in Cass City, Caro Community Hospital, Caro Regional Center, and Saginaw General Hospital, before going to Florida as a traveling nurse in the West Palm Beach area. He returned to the Thumb area in 1997 and has resided here since. During his time in Caro, Jim sold real estate for the McLeod Realty Agency. In his free time, Jim enjoyed working in his yard and flowerbeds. Jim is survived by his two children, Rebecca J. Brown of Grand Blanc, Aaron R. Brown of Lansing; the mother of his children, LuAnn J. Brown of Caro; one brother, Timothy and his wife Joyce Brown of Bay Port; one sister, Elizabeth Alexander of Bay Port; four nieces and special friend, Christopher Patterson and his family of Caro. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Collison, his special grandparents, Sanford A. & Mildred Brown and his brother-in-law, William Alexander, Jr. In keeping with Jims wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Bay Port Community Church of Christ. Those who so desire, may make memorial contributions to the Brown Family Discretionary Fund, c/o of 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
