James M. Halstead

Halstead, James (age 68) of Sebewaing, MI unexpectedly went home to his Savior on Thursday, December 23, 2010, in Ann Arbor, MI. Jim was born August 16, 1942 in Bay City to Glenn and Maxine (Mulligan) Halstead. He married Judy (Bach) September 26, 1965. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 3 ½ years, worked for General Motors for 36 years and was active in various church and community positions over the years. Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting, visiting with family and friends, and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Judith (Bach) of 45 years; three sons, Kirk (Karin), Brent (Christine), Sean (Claudia); five grandchildren, Lauren, Erica, Sydney, Nathan, and Meagan; six siblings, Carole Pettigrew, William, Norman, Michael, Cindy Koslowski, and Jill Dugan; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Larry and Mary Lou Adam, Rodney and Carol Truemner. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leonard and Steven.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday, January 7, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sebewaing. The family will receive visitors from 10am until the time of service.

Jim's family will receive visitors at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 1-9pm.

Memorials may be made out to the American Heart Association, Immanuel Lutheran church, or to the charity of your choice.
