James G. Holt

James G. Holt, age 85, of Bay Port, formerly of Westland, passed away November 20, 2018, at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe.

James was born July 22, 1933, in Paw Paw, Missouri, to Drew and Thelma (Vinson) Holt. After graduating from high school, he attended many drafting classes and became and automotive designer. He married Patricia (Stanczewski) on October of 1979. James also operated Holt Design for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching U of M and Detroit Lions Football and watching the local Thumb Area football teams.

James is survived by his wife, Patricia; children: Michael (Ruth) Holt of Dundee, Debra Harris of Wayne, Drew Holt of Wayne, Karen (Mark) Tremonti of Monroe, Virginia Holt of Westland; step son, James Landry of Virginia; siblings: Elizabeth Boyer, Robert Holt, Leonard Holt and Kathleen Gilman; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by a son, Daniel; and sisters: Mary Turvey and Terrie Poore.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

Memorial donations may be given to the Thumb Animal Shelter.
