James William Kosal, age 83, of Florida, formerly of Palms, passed away Friday, June 20, 2020, in Florida, after a five year battle with cancer.
James was born September 20, 1937, in Palms, Michigan, to the late Michael and Genevieve (Messing) Kosal. He married Nancy Casey on May 16, 1980. James was retired from General Motors while still living in Lake Orion, Michigan, before moving to Florida. Jim loved to fish, ride bike and garden. He always talked about how many Christmas cookies Nancy and he would make. He was a member of Rancho Village Church of Largo, Florida.
James is survived by his wife, Nancy of Florida; his children: Kim (Bob) Menominee of Unionville, Brian (Becky Jones) Kosal of Bad Axe, Linda (Terry) Schember of Elkton, Sherrie, Sandra, Cinthea and Catherine (HoTruong) of Florida. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers: Robert (Jo Ann) Kosal of Minden City, Edward (Marsha) Kosal of Palms; sisters: Rose Shubitowski of Clinton Township, Maryellen (Richard) Banaszak of Bay City; and sister-in-law, Becky Bulgrien.
James is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joseph Kosal, granddaughter, April Menominee, great granddaughter, Brooklyn, two brothers, Ray and Richard, and a sister, Gail.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held in Florida on July 18, 2020.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held in Michigan at a later date.
Jim will be remembered in our hearts as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
