James Rodger Lajoie

James Rodger LaJoie of Caro, age 54, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at his home, following a brief, but courageous, battle with cancer. Jimmy was born August 21, 1963 in Caro, the son of Frances (Peterson) LaJoie and the late Walter "Bud" LaJoie. He was employed as a dragline operator from 1984-2008 for the Six L's Inc. and also worked as a welder at Michigan Sugar Company for twenty-eight years, retiring in 2017. Jimmy enjoyed driving his jeep, operating heavy machinery, and always dreamed about moving to Florida. He is survived by one daughter and her husband, Andrea LaJoie & Rafael Peralta of Ecuador; his mother, Frances LaJoie of Port St. Lucie, Florida; one sister and her husband, Marie & Jim Koch of Frankenmuth; one niece and her husband, Ashley & Ed Sunday of Frankenmuth; his best friend and primary caregiver, Darlene Enos, and her daughter, Tiffanie Enos, both of Caro. In addition to his father, Jimmy was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne LaJoie; and his beloved dog, Hershey. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the people who acted as caregivers to Jimmy throughout his lifetime. In keeping with Jimmy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Beverly LaJoie officiating.
