James Joseph LaManna, age 92, of Caseville, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe.
Jim was born September 7, 1919 in Detroit to the late Jack and Anna LaManna. He was a veteran of the US Army during World War II. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 45 years at the Dearborn engine plant, retiring in 1985. He moved from Southgate to Caseville in 1988. He was a member of the Caseville Eagles and American Legion. He loved racing, and he was known by many as “Hot Rod.”
He is survived by his son Robert and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rita in 1993; son James; and all of his siblings: Leonard, Sam, Paul, Mary, Frances, Kitty and Josephine.
Military graveside services will be at 2:30 Thursday, November 10th at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
Visitation will be 9:00 am to 12:00 Noon Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville.
