James Sheldon O'Brien of Caro, age 61, passed away on the evening of Friday, July 8, 2022 at his home after a very courageous battle. Jim was born December 3, 1960 in Caro, the son of James O'Brien, Sr. and Dianne (Hazel) O'Brien. Jim attended Caro High School and went on to own and operate his own residential and industrial painting business. On July 29, 1978, Jim married the love of his life, the former Deborah Hartsell, and together they would've been celebrating forty-four years this month. Jim always liked to stay busy, tinkering with CB radios, working on cars, computers, and was an honest "jack of all trades". He enjoyed golfing and watching basketball. Jim absolutely loved all things Christmas, the TV shows & movies, lights, and decorating the house; he even won the Caro decorating competition three times. Above all else, Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, son, grandfather, and uncle. He loved time spent with his family, they were the lights of his life. Jim will be missed for years to come. Left to cherish Jim's memory is his loving wife, Debbie O'Brien; children, Jeremy O'Brien, Matthew (Nicole) O'Brien, and Jessica (Mike) Ruppal; grandchildren, Amaia, Briella, and Caylyn; mother, Dianne O'Brien; siblings, Debbie (Dale) Rushlo, Becky (Brian) Heath, Danny O'Brien, Kevin O'Brien, and Kyle O'Brien; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and beloved chihuahua, Marley. In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Debbie O'Brien, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
