James D. Pedler age 79, of Chandler Twp. passed away Thursday morning, September 29, peacefully at his home with his loving wife, Carolyn and family at his bedside.
He was born April 11, 1932 in Winsor Twp. to the late James and Frances (Eimers) Pedler. Jim grew up in the Pigeon area and went to Pigeon High School, Class of 1950.
On May 5, 1951, he was united in marriage to Carolyn l. Drummond at the Caseville R.L.D.S. Church and are currently members of the Grant Community of Christ Church.
Jim loved life, he loved polka dancing and listening to polka music. Not only did he love fishing and hunting, he enjoyed listening to, and sharing hunting and fishing stories with his family. Jim enjoyed going to the coffee shop and spending time with his friends. He enjoyed antique tractors and restoring them. But most of all he loved “the love of his life”, Carolyn, his wife of 60 years. They enjoyed life together, loving his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, he considered them all, his babies.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; three children, Dennis (Laura) Pedler of Jeddo, Cheri (Ron) Peyerk of Verona and Doug (Lynette) Pedler of Chandler Twp.; his son-in-law, Phil Fisher of Chandler Twp.; ten grandchildren, Andy (Christine), Kevin, Adam (Ericka), Ryan, Amber, Jason, Amy (Shawn), Helen (Mike), Kim (Albert) and Jackie (Dave); 12 great grandchildren, Michelle, Ryan, Emma, Anna, Allison, Alexis, Brendon, Ashley, Gab, Ella, Taylor and Cloie and two brothers, Ken (Jannie) Pedler and Richard (Joyce) Pedler both of Caseville.
Preceding him in death was his daughter, Sharon Fisher and two sisters, Joyce Cook and Vivian Fischer.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, October 3, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Elders Steve and Karen Bouverette will officiate with burial in Grandlawn Cemetery, Winsor Twp.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 PM Sunday and after 10:00 AM Monday.
Family was the most important thing to Jim, he said “I am rich in life because I have such a loving family.” He is now reunited in Heaven, with his daughter, Sharon. Jim was loved and adored by his family and will be missed dearly by all. . . . .
