James Lee Rock

James Lee Rock , age 75 of Bay City, formerly of Sebewaing, passed away under hospice care on April 10, 2022.

James was born in Caro to Gerald and Alice (Clement) Rock. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1965 and Central Michigan University in 1969 with a degree in Sociology. He married Judy (Bryden) and mother of Jim's children on December 30, 1967. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2015. He married Tanya (Reinhold) on June 4, 2016.

Jim was a devoted husband, a doting father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his family, step-family, and extended family beyond measure. Jim loved to golf, shoot pool, play the guitar, collecting hundreds of pigs and traveled all around the US. He looked forward to the next "Magical Mystery Tour" with Tanya. He loved to garden, complete woodworking projects, and "Honey-do" lists. He was the best sous chef and joke-teller. Jim accomplished many things in his lifetime. He was a proficient scuba diver. He became an Eagle Scout, and was promoted to National Sales Manager.

Jim was a Youth Minister years ago, and most recently he served his Lord at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bay City as an Usher, a Fellowship Elder and Greeter, plus serving his Savior at many church functions. Jim's faith carried over to serving as Chaplain for the Freedom Cruisers Riding Club (FCRC) # 106, the first such office position in FCRC history in the entire US. Jim was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA) and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4077 in Atlanta, MI.

Jim's greatest love next to family and church was riding his motorcycles, starting with two wheelers and most recently his Can-Am Spyder "Poil". He selflessly gave himself to special functions like Cardinal Wishes or a fundraiser to support a biker family or an ill or dying biker. Plus he loved to bike and get ice cream, gallons and gallons of ice cream wherever he rode. Being called "Rocky," after his "biker" uncle, was a proud moment for him. Jim's last words too many people that he knew and even did not know were "Have a Blessed Day." He also reminded us to "Keep Moving Forward, Always Forward."

Thank you Rocky for giving so much of yourself to so many. You are Blessed.

James is survived by his wife, Tanya; children: Jennifer (Mark) Hickmott of Muskegan, Danielle (Brian) Lukowski of Mansfield, OH and Kathleen (Phil) Diaz of Bay City; step children: Jeffrey Kunitzer of East Grand Rapids, Steven (Melissa) Kunitzer of Haliimaili, Maui, Pamela (Michiael) Kunitzer-Carrne of La Grange, GA and Marty (JiSun) Blackmer of Edgewood, WA; grandchildren: Connor (Keleen), Katriel (Edward) and Teagan Wlodarczak, Collin (Jessica) and Bryan Lukowski, Ella and Mira Kunitzer, Jackson Carrne and Katherine Blackmer; great grandchildren: Kerrigan and Miles Lukowski; sister, Lana (Len) Gage; Tanya's brothers: Art (Judi) Reinhold of Rochester Hills and James (Jamie) Reinhold of Branch, MI.

James is preceded in death by his first wife, Judy; parents: Gerald and Alice Rock, in-laws: Walt, Sr. and Evelyn Bryden; and sister, Linda Rock.
