James Romain

James Robert Romain, age 85, of Caro passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. He was born on October 24, 1924, on the family farm in Almer Township to the late August and Albena (Goka) Romain. Jim attended the Almer Center School and farmed on the family farm, and then went to work at General Motors in Bay City until his retirement. He thoroughly enjoyed people, coffee, and meals around town. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Caro Knights of Columbus #3224. He is survived by two sisters, Loretta Miklovic and Margaret Nagy, both of Caro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Lawe and Veronica Beecher; and one brother, George Romain. Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Ladd officiating. Rite of Committal will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a K of C Rosary recited on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the James R.
