James L Thomas

James L Thomas age 58, of Grant Twp. near Cass City died Thursday morning, February 25, at Heartland Health Care Center, Saginaw after a yearlong battle with health problems.

He was born October 21, 1956 in Cass City to the late Harold and Margit (Tordai) Thomas.
On September 19, 1986, he was united in marriage to Mary “Vickie” Stephens at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Flint.
Jim had worked with the McDonald’s Restaurants in the Flint area for 25 years. Then in 1997 he took a position with the K-Mart Store in Clio, retiring in 2013 with 15 years of service.

He was a member of the Genesee Road Church of God and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Flint.

Surviving are his wife of almost 40 years, Vickie; uncles and aunts, Frank and Geri Tordai of Grant Twp. and Vernita and Walter Nimtz of Grant Twp; niece and nephew, Alyssa and Jonathan John; sisters in law, Joyce (Mike) Stout of Kalamazoo and Alberta Hylton of Gladwin; brother in law, Ethridge Stephen of Gladwin and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton where friends may call from noon until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to the family.
