James Anthony Walter

James Anthony Walter of Vassar, age 60, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 at his home. James was born August 6, 1963 in Owosso, the son of James Walter and the late Carolyn Ward. James was a skilled auto technician and was both self-employed and worked for U-Fix-It of Vassar and McDonald Chevrolet of Millington. On April 20, 1990 James married the former Jennifer Bolender in Clio and the couple shared over thirty-four years of marriage marked by love, laughter, and countless memories. A man of many passions, James found joy in woodworking, reading, and tending to his chickens. He could often be found with an Auto Trader in hand or passing the time by listening to his police scanner. Known for his quick wit, he never missed an opportunity to share a good dad joke, bringing plenty of smiles to those around him. He was a true hot sauce enthusiast and enjoyed experimenting with flavors and grilling outdoors. Above all else, James loved God and his grandchildren, who were the lights of his life.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jennifer Walter; his children, Erika Pulley & Chris Board, Anna & Ray Gray, Jamie Walter & Krysti Martinez, and Toby Walter; grandchildren, Tobias, Isaac, Eliana, and Evie; one sister; his two loyal dogs, a shih-poo named Blanket and a toy poodle named Sandy; and his many chickens.

A private family funeral service will be held. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Jennifer Walter, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
