James A. Yackle, age 63, passed away unexpectedly at his home near Pigeon on Monday, September 17, 2012.
James was born at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon on July 18, 1949 to the late Carl and Alice (Moeller) Yackle. He graduated from Laker High School in 1968. On February 2, 1980 he was united in marriage to Sheila F. Stoeckle at St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh.
James farmed throughout his lifetime in the Pigeon area. He enjoyed collecting all types of toy tractors, especially Oliver tractors. He was a former member of the MMPA, was on the Winsor Twp. Review Board and was a 4H leader for the Country Kids 4H Club. He was a story teller who thoroughly enjoyed making a short tale a long one. He also enjoyed spending lots of time with his family.
In addition to his wife Sheila, he is survived by two sons, Kyle and his wife Victoria (Talaski) Yackle and Kirk Yackle, all of Pigeon; his dearest grandson Ethan; his sisters, Colleen (Ray) Bittner of Gainesville, Georgia, Julie Stroud of Plant City, Florida and Sherrie Collis of Pigeon; his mother-in-law, Helen Stoeckle; brothers-in law, Kendall (Debra) Stoeckle of Sebewaing, Brent (Cathy) Stoeckle of Sebewaing, Mark (Carol) Stoeckle of Cass City and Thomas (Jan) Stoeckle of Cass City; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his brother, Carlson Yackle and his father-in-law, Edward Stoeckle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon, with Rev. Timothy Loehrke, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home in Pigeon from 2-9pm.
There will be additional visitation on Friday at the church at 10am until the time of service.
Memorials may be given to Cross Lutheran Church building fund or the Family Discretionary Fund.
