Jane Alegria

Jane Alegria of Caro, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Tuscola County Medical Care Community surrounded by her family. She was born August 21, 1957 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Alex and Maria (Labrano) Alegria. Jane attended Highland Pines and was employed with the Industrial Park, working with pottery and cleaning. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a former parishioner of Our Lady Consolata Parish.

Jane was a true lover of life. She enjoyed dancing, singing, and playing her little guitar. Jane was an amazing crafter, making hotpads for her family and loved working with her hands. She was always up to go sightseeing and never turned down a chance to bowl. Jane was an angel on earth and her unconditional love and joy will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Jane leaves to cherish her memory her brothers, Frank (Becky) Alegria, Arthur (Linda) Alegria, and Johnny Alegria; sisters, Helen (Andy) Davila, Blanche Arellano, Linda (Bill) Gainforth, Oriole Alegria, and Rose (Ernie) Edwards; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Alex Alegria, Jr.; sister, Clara (Melvin) Ackerman; brother-in-law, JR Teneyuque; nieces, Angie and Linda Davila; and nephew, Scott Ackerman.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro. Rev. Isaac Madanu will officiate with burial following at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Unionville. Jane’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service.
