Jane Ellen Cox

Jane Ellen Cox of Caro, age 82, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Jane was born May 8, 1941 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Clare and Florence (Russell) Carpenter. She was united in marriage with Elwin Cox on December 12, 1959 in Cass City, and the couple have cherished sixty-three years together. Jane had been employed at Caro Plastics for many years, and also enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved her grandchildren and liked working in the garden, tending to her flowers, and taking care of her two sons, keeping them out of trouble when they were younger. Jane is survived by her loving husband, Elwin Cox, Sr.; two sons, Mark Cox and wife, Ryan, of Sebewaing, and Elwin Cox, Jr. and wife, Shelly, of Caro; six grandchildren, Skyler, Eli, Cody, Zachary, Allison and Melissa; two great-grandchildren, Savanna and Brycen; one brother, Robert Carpenter of Cass City; and one sister, Patty Carpenter of Alma. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Carpenter. In keeping with Jane's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
