Jane Kuhn

Jane Marie (Mitzel) Kuhn, age 50, of Caro, MI, passed away August 12, 2007 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Isadore and Helen Mitzel in Lansing on December 18, 1956. Jane graduated from Lansing Eastern High School and went on to earn her Civil Engineering Degree at Michigan State University in 1992. She was especially proud of obtaining her Professional Engineer License in the 1990s. Jane practiced her craft while employed at M.D.O.T. in Lansing as well as in Genesee County. She finished her career as County Highway Engineer for Tuscola County. In 1987 Jane married the love of her life, her devoted and beloved Earl. They shared 20 years in which they worked together on their dream home, vacationed, golfed, rode motorcycles and enjoyed life. She spent a lot of time with her daughter, Holly, as she was growing up, shopping and visiting and being together. Jane is survived by her dear husband, Earl, and daughter, Holly; a sister, Joy Fernandez of Canton; a brother, Jeff (Dawn) Mitzel of Lansing; twenty-seven nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her nephew, Gregory. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Earl Sr. and Marjorie Kuhn; brothers-in-law, Mike Fernandez and Ron Shively; and her niece, Amy Shively. There will be a memorial held at the Kuhn home in Caro, MI on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. For those who choose, donations in Mrs. Kuhns name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
