Janet Ann Bertrand

Janet Ann Bertrand of Caro, age 88, passed away on the morning of Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Ascension St. Mary's with her loving family by her side. Janet was born October 2, 1934 in Tuscola County, the daughter of the late Hugh and Melissa (Walker) Marr. Janet graduated from Mayville High School in 1953. It was in high school Janet met the love of her life, Richard Bertrand. They were united in marriage on May 21, 1955 in Mayville. Their marriage was blessed with almost sixty-eight wonderful years, five loving sons, and countless memories. Janet started work as a teller for Mayville State Bank and retired in 1996 after holding multiple positions at several banks in Caro. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church, and a founding member of the Knights of Columbus, Women's Auxiliary. Throughout life she enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and being with her family. Janet's strong-willed, opinionated, kind, and hard-working memory will live on in the hearts of her family. Janet is survived by her loving husband, Richard; sons, Michael Bertrand, Anthony (Joan) Bertrand, Richard (Sally) Bertrand, Jr., Jeffrey (Julie) Bertrand, and Patrick Bertrand; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Larry (Lottie) Marr; sister-in-law, Barbara (Colin) Robaczewski; several nieces, nephews, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Rev. Christopher Coman officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A Rosary Service will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Christopher Parish.
