Janet K. Gardner

Janet K. Gardner of Caro, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. Janet was born March 24, 1943 in Caro, the daughter of the late Otto & Vera (Prime) Fischer and graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School with the class of 1961. She was united in marriage with Raymond Gardner on June 19, 1965 at the Unionville Moravian Church and celebrated twenty-four happy years until his passing on August 4, 1989. Janet was employed as a stenographer at the Tuscola County courthouse for over twenty years. She later worked as a legal secretary before taking a position at Walbro Technical Center in Caro, retiring in 1997 due to health. Janet was a member of the Unionville Moravian Church and formerly the Caro Jaycees. Her happiest times centered around family, and she never missed an opportunity to be with them. She enjoyed summer vacations in Tawas and sewing in her earlier years, and more recently could be found solving crossword puzzles or playing cards. Janet will be remembered for her constant smile and positive attitude. Though she endured many hardships, her spirit was never dimmed. Left to cherish Janet's memory are two children and their spouses, Dirk & Dee Gardner of Lake Odessa, Melanie & Chris Hunt of Bay City; three grandchildren, Brendan Gardner, Justin and Taylor Hunt; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Herdell. Private funeral services will be held at the Unionville Moravian Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Janet's family is planning a celebration of her life at a later time when family and friends can safely gather. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Unionville Moravian Church or Vadavilla AFC Home.
