Janet Heron, age 90, of Caseville died Friday evening, February 20, with her family at her side at Sunny Acres Nursing Center near Bad Axe.
She was born November 22, 1913 in Armadale, Scotland and moved to the Detroit area as a little girl with her parents, the late John and Janet (Ramage) Cook.
On March 27, 1937 she was united in marriage to Thomas C. Heron in Pontiac. They moved to Caseville in 1963, where her husband was co founder of Walsh Sheet Metal. He preceded her in death June 8, 1989.
Mrs. Heron was a member of the Caseville United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, cooking and baking. She also liked tending to her garden and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are three daughters, Joyce (Gena) D’Alessandro of Lapeer, Arlene (Jim) Nance of Caseville and Linda (Tony) Vaal of Bloomfield Hills; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Charlotte Boal and Margaret Lively.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 24, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Caseville with burial in the Caseville Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Monday and after 10AM Tuesday.
Memoral donations may be given to the Salvation Army
