Janet K. Ihle

Janet K. Ihle of Caro, age 76, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Medilodge of Cass City. Janet was born October 11, 1941 in Owosso, the daughter of the late Mack Dominic and Irene Alice (Wierman) Milano. She grew up in St. Charles, and graduated from St. Charles Community Schools with the Class of 1959. Janet attended airline school in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1959, and worked at Michigan Bell in Saginaw from 1960 until the summer of 1963. Janet went on to attend Michigan State University, majoring in journalism, and received her bachelor of science degree in 1966. She was employed at the Utica Sentinel in Utica for a short period of time. Janet was united in marriage with William J. Ihle on October 21, 1967 in St. Charles, and the couple moved to Caro in 1969. Bill preceded her in death on March 9, 2016. Janet did free lance writing for the Tuscola County Advertiser in Caro and the Saginaw News, as well as several magazines. She enjoyed walking, reading, arts and crafts, and animals. During her younger years, she enjoyed spending time with the elderly, and for fifteen years volunteered to rock babies at (MOPS) Mothers of Preschoolers. She was well known around town for turquoise and her former "cat car". Janet is survived by two daughters whom she loved deeply, Trina Kay Ihle of Lovettsville, Virginia, and Lita Rae Ihle of Grand Rapids; one brother, Gerald Lee Milano and his wife, Laura, of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Milano of Marquette, Regina Milano of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Patricia Milano of Waxahachie, Texas; twelve nieces and nephews; nineteen great-nieces and great-nephews; twenty-one great-great-nieces and -nephews; and her fur baby, BT. In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Donald and Duane; and numerous fur babies. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Joseph Ruder officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in St. Charles. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Cass River Pet FriendZ or the Tuscola County Humane Society.
