Janet A. Jahr

Janet A. Jahr , age 88, of Sebewaing, passed away January 9, 2022 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.

Janet was born November 26, 1933, in Bay Port, to Frederick and Lillian (Dilsworth) Kuhl.  After graduating from Bay Port High School, she married Clarence "Sprizz" Jahr, Jr. on January 26, 1951. He preceded her in death in 2003.Janet enjoyed puzzles, playing Bingo, going to the casino, raking her grass, cleaning, sewing, quilting and baking. She was the best at baking her famous banana cake with peanut butter frosting.

Janet is survived by her children: Kathryn "Kitty" (Ken) Rose of Gaylord, David (Ann) Jahr of Sebewaing, Terry Jahr of Sebewaing, Jamie Jahr of Lansing and Amy (Richard) Miller of Coleman; grandchildren: Andrea Pattee, Jonathan Jahr and Alisson Jahr; great granddaughter, Gabrielle; siblings: Warren Kuhl, Doris Onnalee and Richard Kuhl; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, grandson, Chad Jahr, and siblings: Kathryn Geleski, Virginia Kuhl, Betty Wiebeck, Frederick Kuhl, Lloyd James Kuhl, Mary Ann Zelkowski and John Kuhl.

The visitation and funeral will be on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 11am until the time of service at 1pm. Brad Haist will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
