Janet Marie Taggett

Janet Marie Taggett of Caro, age 74, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at her home. Janet was born February 9, 1949 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Alex and Bessie (Kocsis) Kanyok. She was united in marriage with Gary Taggett on August 10, 1968 at St. Francis Cabrini Church in Vassar, and he survives. Janet enjoyed everything in nature: birds, flowers, sunrises, sunsets, the moon, clouds, and deer. She loved fireworks and everything about Frankenmuth. Above all else, Janet loved her family and was a wonderful wife and mother.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary; one son, Adam Taggett and wife, Lisa Thomas; one daughter, Amy Hecht and husband, Troy; six grandchildren, Koryn, Andrew, Amanda, Ryan, Maisie, and Carsen; one great-grandson, Benson; one sister, Ethel Blackmer and husband, Bob; two brothers, Ron Kanyok and wife, Cheryl, Tom Kanyok and wife, Diane; sisters-in-law, Gloryanna Post and Mary Taggett; special friend, Beth Mellendorf; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joann Acord; brothers-in-law, George, Gene and Gordon Taggett, Owen Acord, and Jerry Post; and sister-in-law, Janet Taggett.

A memorial service will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family wishes, c/o Gary Taggett, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
