Janet May Mccrimmon

Janet M. McCrimmon, 88, of Caseville, peacefully passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Northwood Meadows Assisted Living in Cass City.

Janet was born May 28, 1935 in Bay City, the only daughter of John J. and Eunice (Boergert) Gillingham and baptized as a member of Bay Port United Methodist Church.  She grew up in Bay Port and graduated from Bay Port High School in 1954.  She married Ernest “Ernie” McCrimmon on March 4, 1955 in Bay Port.  They soon made their home in Caseville where she raised their 3 sons.

Janet enjoyed living near the water her entire life.  Janet and Ernie spent winters in Florida for many years along with family and many friends.

Janet is survived by her sons David (Peg) and Mark, both of Caseville; grandchildren Holli, Misty, Michelle, Matthew, James, Lindsey, Becky, Brenda, Sarah and Kala; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law Elaine Gillingham and Alice Gillingham; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ernie, her oldest son Michael, and her brothers John (Luella) and Richard Gillingham.

Janet requested to have a private funeral which will take place at New Bay Port Cemetery.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Bay Port Historical Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
