Janet Kay Molsberry, 79, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Oak Beach, died Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Florida.
Jan was born March 31, 1940 in Royal Oak to the late Charles and Irene (Pethers) Eddy. She worked as a nurse’s aid at Martin Place Hospital in Madison Heights while living in Ferndale and raising her family. Later she moved to New Mexico with her husband Blackie and then to Bradenton, Florida. She spent summers in Oak Beach most of her life. Jan loved God and her family. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed playing games such as backgammon, Scrabble and card games, scrapbooking, and listening to Jimmy Swaggert. She enjoyed Facetiming with her great-grandsons. She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend and will be missed and loved by all.
She is survived by life partner Neal Bowers of Bradenton; children Robert Matteson of Madison Heights and Tracie Lee Matteson of Bad Axe; dear friend and former daughter-in-law Aleta Matteson of Shelby Twp; Neno to her three grandchildren Lance (Yiyao Wu) Matteson, Alaina (Nick) Morand and Luke Matteson; great-grandsons Finn, Denver, and Sawyer Morand; siblings Peggy (Jack) Lentz of Sterling Heights, Judy (Marty) Kelsey of DeWitt, James (Linda) Eddy of Oak Beach and Linda Zimmerman of Mexico; and the father of her children Bob Matteson of Oak Beach. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil “Blackie” Molsberry.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, September 30th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon, Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating, with burial in Caseville Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 to 6:00pm Sunday.
