Janet L. Salgat

Janet L. Salgat of Caro, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. Janet was born August 18, 1938 in Caro, the daughter of the late Arden and Evelyn (Hill) Gaul and was a graduate of Caro High School. She was united in marriage with Jay Salgat on August 16, 1958 in Caro. Janet was a lifelong resident of Caro and was known to be the family caretaker, always available for anyone in need. She enjoyed traveling and time spent with loved ones. Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-one years, Jay Salgat of Caro; two sons, Jay Salgat, Jr. of Cadillac, and Brian Salgat and his wife, Jo, of Lowell; two grandchildren, Bradley and Parker Salgat of Lowell; one brother, Garry Gaul and his wife, Diana, of Harrison; two sisters-in-law, Monika Gaul of Clearwater, Florida, and Evelyn Montague of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Gaul and Gerald Gaul and his wife, Barbara; daughter-in-law, Peggy Salgat; and two aunts, Clara and Eleanor Hill. Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Almer Township Cemetery in Caro.
