Janet K. Sargent

Early on April 28th, 2024, Janet K. Sargent, loving wife, mother, grandmother, "gigi", sister and friend went home to be with the Lord. She was born on September 23rd, 1949, to Francis and Geraldine (Guoan) Derocher in Standish, Michigan and was raised with six siblings.

Jan graduated from Pinconning High School with the Class of 1967. After attaining her degree in Nursing, she would go on to become a Registered Nurse holding a variety of positions over her working career.

On April 25, 1970, she was married to Charles "Chuck" Sargent which began a new chapter in her life. They would go on to celebrate 49 years of marriage together, raising three daughters. Family would remain an important ingredient in Jan's life throughout the years, through the good times and through the struggles.

After her retirement as a nurse, she would spend her remaining years helping wherever needed. Some of her most treasured times were at church, spending time with friends at Washington Woods and volunteering her time.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother and brother, Danny. Surviving Jan are her three daughters; Sarah (Chris) Ralston, Jenny (Johnny) Henderson and Becky (Jim) Smith; five sisters; Kathy, Joyce, Linda, Judy and Mary Jo. Jan was also blessed with eight grandchildren; Josh, Nick (Bri), Jon, Gabriel (Tanisha), Isaac, Xavier, Olivia and Sam; three great-grandchildren; Russell, Gwen and Genevieve.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 12 pm at Resurrection Life of Midland, 1849 S. Poseyville Rd. Pastor James Smith will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service for those who would like to spend time with the family.
