Janet Louise Schumacher

Janet Louise Schumacher, 89, of Pigeon, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Country Gardens Assisted Living in Pigeon.

Janet was born May 1, 1933 in Pigeon to the late Adolph and Elna (Clabuesch) Buchholz. She graduated in 1951 from Pigeon High School. On October 11, 1958 she married James Schumacher; he preceded her in death on July 13, 2016. Janet was a lifelong member of Cross Lutheran Church. She was known for her smile and for her work as a companion at Country Bay Village for 20 years, retiring at age 83. She will be remembered for her warmth and kindness. Janet was a simple woman who lived a simple life in a small town; she had a small family to which she was entirely devoted.

Janet is survived by her daughter Maria Lynn Schumacher (Bruce Fitzgerald) of Fenton and sister Judith Bayer of Toronto, Ontario. She was preceded in death by her sister Carol Taylor.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, December 16th at Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Glenn Sokolowski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00am Friday and continue until the time of the service. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
