Janet A. Stetler

Janet Ann Stetler, 78 of Pigeon, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at Covenant Harrison Hospital in Saginaw.
Born in Flint on July 4, 1937, she was the daughter of James L. and Pearl M. (Domine) Malloy. She attended school in Pigeon for three years and graduated from Flint Northern High School.
As a student at Asbury College, she sang in the choir, and graduated in 1960. On June 6, 1964 she was united in marriage to Rev. Carl L. Stetler at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Flint.
Janet taught school in Indiana until 1974. She was a former member of Centennial Community Church of Kingman, Indiana, where she directed Vacation Bible School for 10 years and served as president of the Women's Society. She also sang in the woman's choral group in Fountain County, Indiana for six years. She was a member of the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church.
Janet collected cookbooks. She loved to read and enjoyed watching sports on TV. She enjoyed going to the lake to watch the boats and the wave action of the lake. She was a loving mother and cared deeply for her children.
Her survivors include her husband for more than 51 years, Rev. Carl L. Stetler of Pigeon; three children, Paul (Patty) Stetler of Boaz, Alabama, Shawn (Leslie) Stetler of Lafayette, Indiana, and Janaé Stetler of Pigeon; grandsons, Aaron Hampton and Brandon Stetler; sister, Joanne (Kenneth) Krause of Lakeville, Minnesota; brother, James Malloy of Phoenix, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pearl Malloy, and her grandparents, August and Katherine Domine.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Pastor Carol Corbishley and Pastor Jon Fruytier, both of Bad Axe Free Methodist Church, officiating.
Memorials may be made to Bad Axe Free Methodist Church.

VISITATION AT MEYERSIECK-BUSSEMA FUNERAL HOME, PIGEON:
Tuesday, November 3 6:00 p.m. until service at 7:00 p.m.
