Janet A. Tomlinson

Janet A. Tomlinson of Caseville, formerly of Caro, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Janet was born September 19, 1941 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Woodrow and Dorothy (Robinson) Gill. Janet started her employment with the County of Tuscola at the age of sixteen, working summers while still in high school in the County Clerk's office and transferring to the Register of Deeds office. She went on to work with Tuscola County Probate Court, retiring in December of 2000, after more than thirty years of employment and having worked in every office on the first floor. She was united in marriage with Lawrence Tomlinson on October 14, 1961 at the Caro United Methodist Church, and he survives. Janet enjoyed watching her grandchildren in all of their sporting events, mowing the lawn to exactly four inches in height, planting a minimum of one hundred seventy-five geraniums each year, playing cards, especially Euchre and Pinochle, and watching Detroit Tiger baseball. Janet is survived by her husband, Larry Tomlinson of Caseville; four sons and their spouses, Gregory & Karly Tomlinson of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Kevin & Sheila Tomlinson of Cass City, Thomas & Dawn Tomlinson of Caro, Mark & Melissa Tomlinson of Cass City; six grandchildren, Tyler & Ashley, Cassandra, Justin, Brandon and Austin Tomlinson, and Brittany Carr; three great-grandchildren, Malia, Carter and Emeric; one sister and her husband, Nora & Lee Jacoby of Caseville; and one brother and his wife, Darrell & Kathy Gill of Caro. In keeping with Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Chris Taylor officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Gift of Life of Michigan.
