Janette M. Catherwood

Janette M. Catherwood of Caro, age 68, passed away on May 4, 2018 at Covenant Health Care - Harrison in Saginaw. Janette was born January 22, 1950 in Lakeville, the daughter of the late Grenville & Betty (Binger) Ford and graduated from Lakeville High School with the class of 1968. She was united in marriage with Robert Catherwood on July 1, 1978 in Lapeer, and he survives. Janette spent thirteen years as a program technician with Farmers Home Administration, USDA, in Pennsylvania and Michigan before deciding on a career change that led her to the nursing field. She attended Alpena Community College, and at forty-two years old, earned her degree as a registered nurse. Janette would spend the next twenty years in that capacity, serving patients for many years at Caro Community Hospital and then Americans Home Health Care. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and avid fisherman. She also enjoyed taking family trips, camping, and solving crossword puzzles. Janette is survived by her loving husband, Robert Catherwood of Caro; three children, Janelle Lynk of St. Helen, Jason Lynk of Caro, Shawn Catherwood of Johns Island, South Carolina; two grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda & Michael Mossing, Morgan & Michael Pasque; five great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Michael & Carol Ford of Warren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Lyme Disease Association.
