Janette Elaine Mossner

Janette Elaine Mossner of Mayville, age 73, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, while at United Hospice Service in Marlette. She was born on March 9, 1953, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Duane Wilbur and Janice Ann (Schnarr) Ruby. When Janette was ten years old, she moved to Caro and graduated from Caro High School with the Class of 1971.

Janette devoted more than thirty years of her life to serving as a paraprofessional at Highland Pines School, where her kindness, patience, and dedication touched the lives of countless young people. She took great pride in her work and in the many students she had the privilege of supporting and encouraging throughout the years.

Outside of work, Janette found happiness in the simple things she loved most. She enjoyed crafting alongside her friends, creating special memories through both their projects and the time they spent together. She also treasured the companionship of her beloved cats, who always held a special place in her heart.

Janette was a lifelong and devoted fan of The Beatles, with George Harrison holding the distinction of being her favorite. Their music brought her joy throughout her life and was something she could always enjoy and share with others.

Above all, Janette will be remembered for the care she showed to those around her, the lives she touched through her many years at Highland Pines, and the joy she found in friendship, creativity, music, and her cherished pets. Her warmth and the memories she created will remain with those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeffrey (Tiffany) Mossner, Ryan Mossner, and Ashley (Neil) Yule; grandson, Nick; siblings, Cynthia (Jeff) Hawley, Linda (Robert) Tolfree, and Thomas Ruby; aunt, Val Schuette; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Janette was preceded in death by her siblings, Steven Ruby and Pamela Ruby; several aunts and uncles; two nephews; a sister-in-law; and a brother-in-law.

In accordance with Janette’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and burial will take place at Fremont Township Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank United Hospice Service for their generosity and compassionate care during the family’s difficult time.
