Janice M. Foster, 75, of Caseville, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at McLaren Thumb Region Hospital in Bad Axe.

Janice was born March 12, 1945 in Bad Axe to the late Robert Jr. and Frieda (Horton) Hyzer. She graduated from Laker High School in 1963 and then attended St. Mary’s Nursing School in Saginaw, becoming a registered nurse in 1965. Later she finished her schooling at Ferris State University with a bachelor of science in nursing. She married Anthony C. Foster on December 9, 1972 at Hayes United Methodist Church; he preceded her in death April 18, 2005.

Her nursing career took her to Sault Ste Marie, ON, Alberta, Canada, London, England and then back to Huron County where she worked at Hubbard Hospital and she retired from Schuerer Hospital as director of nursing in 2007. She loved to travel, with her husband they operated private yachts in Europe. They lived abroad until moving back to Michigan in 1975. She enjoyed quilting, sewing dresses for her girls, and being a volunteer with GSUSA as troop leader. She was a member of Hayes United Methodist Church and their UMW, where she served as president of the district. Her hobbies included cooking, camping, and reading, especially cookbooks.

She is survived by her twin daughters Moira (Robert) Braman of Shelby Twp and Aline (Rich) Sniecinski of Kawkawlin; step-son Adrian (Sue) Foster of Isle of Wight; grandchildren Toni (Lee) Streets, Christopher (Christian) Buzzard, and Christina (Kyler) Dixon; great-grandchildren Ella and Layla Streets and Colton Buzzard; siblings Lorna (Randy) Baur of Bay Port, Dorothy Fischer of Caseville and Martin (Sandy) Hyzer of Caseville; nieces and nephews Bill (Cathy) Fischer, Robbie, Beth, and Fransico, Cheryl (Alex) Amaya, Sydney and William, Karrie (Greg) Custer, Carson and Alex, Lori (Kevin) Trost, Elly and Zac, and Dan Hyzer; other special grandchildren; and her loving group of girlfriends from high school until their golden years, they all held a special place in her heart and were extended sisters: Janice Wurst, Doreen Kroft, Margaret Miller and the late Linda Manyen.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Paul Fischer.

A private family service will be at Champagne Funeral Chapel on December 16th with Rev. Don Wojewski officiating. Interment will be in Caseville Twp Cemetery.
