Janice E. Rocha, age 79, of Sebewaing, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016, in the comfort of her own home.
Janice was born January 1, 1937, in Sebewaing, to the late Arthur and Harriet (Graves) Kuhl. On November 27, 1954, she married Benjamin Rocha at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sebewaing. She worked as a teacher's aide for 10+ years at Ridge School (Fairhaven Twp., District 1), Sebewaing Elementary School and USA Elementary School. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing piano, riding her bicycle, walking, cooking, baking, reading, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her children: Mark Rocha of Sebewaing, Susan (William) Kain of Sebewaing, Gary Rocha of Saginaw and Matthew (Nicole) Rocha of Sebewaing; grandchildren: Jason (Michelle) Kain, Lisa (Christopher) Hausbeck, Eric (Tonya) Kain, David (Rheanna) Rocha, Amanda (Scott) Weisenbach and Dallas Matatall; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Faye Calaway of Sebewaing; and sisters-in-law: Onalee Kuhl, Emily Kuhl, Joy Kuhl and Carole Kuhl.
Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; her parents, Arthur and Harriet Kuhl; siblings: Kenneth Kuhl, Cecil Kuhl, George Kuhl, Russell Kuhl and Violet Grassel; and brother-in-law, Frank Grassel.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 2-9pm with an evening rosary service.
The funeral service will be Monday, September 12, 2016, at Our Lady of Consolata Catholic Church (Holy Family Parish). Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Sebewaing.
Memorial donations may be given to Parkinson's Research Foundation or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
