Janice A. Ruby

Janice A. Ruby of Caro, formerly of Saginaw, age 82, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 30, 2014 at her home. Janice was born July 14, 1931 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Gottlieb & Nancy (Butler) Schnarr. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw and was united in marriage with Duane W. Ruby on January 28, 1950 in Saginaw. Duane preceded Janice in death on June 1, 2013. Janice spent her early years as a volunteer for special needs children before beginning a career as a paraprofessional at the Tuscola Intermediate School District, retiring in 1998. She is survived by six children and their spouses, Linda & Robert Tolfree of Reese, Steven Ruby of Saginaw, Janette Mossner of Caro, Cindy & Jeff Hawley of Mayville, Tom & Georgene Ruby of Caro, Pamela Forman of Caro; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Jacolin Matson of Traverse City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to United Hospice of Marlette.
