Jean Amanda (Wisenbaugh) Adkins, age 84 of Sebewaing, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Huron Medical Center Hospital in Bad Axe.
Jean was born on April 23, 1932 in Bay Port, Michigan to Charles and Eva (Scott) Wisenbaugh. She graduated as the valedictorian of the Class of 1950 from Bay Port High School. Jean worked as a nanny after graduation, the seatbelt plant in Bad Axe, and then Thumb Industries for over 30 years.
Jean was a loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She loved spending time with her immediate and extended family. Jean was especially proud of her grandchildren, and loved all of her great-grandchildren. Jean loved gardening, reality TV, MSU sports, the Detroit Tigers, and playing games of all kinds.
She is survived by her two daughters, Renda Jaworski and Valerie (Douglas) Fritz both of Sebewaing; four grandchildren, Steven (Jennifer) Jaworski of Freeland, Shana (Jason Shetler) Adkins of Melvin, Kristine (Michael) Tedrow of Grand Blanc, and Cory Fritz of Sebewaing; two step-grandchildren, Adam (Crystal) Fritz of Elkton, and Mandie (Steve) Krohn of Elkton; her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Emily, Natalie, and Parker; and her step-great-grandchildren, Lakyn, Emma, Easton, and Hunter.
Jean is also survived by her siblings, Phyllis (Lyle) Krohn of Bad Axe, Charles Wisenbaugh of Pigeon, and Wayne (Sandra) Wisenbaugh of Pigeon, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her sister Etta Kunisch and brother-in-law Herman, sister-in-law JoAnn Wisenbaugh and son-in-law Gerald Jaworski.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Elder Terry Brown officiating. Cremation will follow.
Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund.
