Jean Grace Berry

Jean Grace Berry of Caro, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. Jean was born April 17, 1928 in Port Hope, the daughter of the late Albert and Theresa (Schave) Pleiness. She was united in marriage with Stanley Berry on October 20, 1956 in Detroit, and Stan preceded her in death earlier this year. Jean was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed caring for her family, gardening, cooking and baking. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. Left to cherish Jean's memory are four children, Milton Berry of Caro, Janice (Ronald) Sleight of Beaverton, Connie (Joseph) Bishop of Caro, Donald (Lori) Berry of Caro; ten grandchildren, Heather (Andrew) Yeager, Jason (Miriam) Sleight, Nicholas (Kayla) Bishop, Aaron (Kelly) Sleight, Patrick Bishop, Nathan Sleight, Travis Sleight, Bryan Berry, Jaylen Berry, Katelyn Berry; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Mary and Eve Yeager; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by eleven siblings, Alexander Pleiness, Ernest Pleiness, Erwin Pleiness, Olga Eggert, Emma Hartz, Caroline Reinke, Esther Zelz, Lena Pleiness, Louise Lampela, and two infant brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Andrew T. Yeager officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
