Jeanne Harris Henry, 74, of Caseville, passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025, after nearly a two-year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jeanne was born on November 11, 1950, in Trenton, Michigan, daughter of John B. and Bertha (Jordison) Harris of Lincoln Park. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972 and a Master of Arts degree in 1974. Jeanne and her women partners owned a successful business in corporate communications based in Ann Arbor for decades. Prior to her business career, she was an adjunct lecturer at U of M, Washtenaw CC and Oakland CC. She was Corporate Communications Director for a multi-state regional bank based in Ann Arbor. Since moving to Caseville in 2003, she was a leader in the Huron County Democratic Party, serving as its chair, treasurer and on the executive committee. She was recently commended by the Huron County Board of Canvassers for 18 years of service certifying local elections. Jeanne was also involved in local township government, service as Chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Jeanne is survived by her husband and care-giver Charles Henry of Caseville; step-sons Jarrod (Ellie) Henry of Portland, OR and C. Luke (Johanna) Henry of Mountain Home, AR; nephews Jason Yaman of Spartanburg, SC, Trent (Kimberly) Yaman of Downers Grove, IL and Jared Yaman of New York City; sisters-in-law Maribeth (David) of Montgomery, TX and Mary Lelik (James Henry) and a host of dear friends from coast to coast. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Janet (Peter) Yaman of Ann Arbor.
She was surrounded by dear friends and family at her passing and received excellent hospice care from A&D Health Care of Pigeon in her home for three weeks.
Memorials may be made to the Huron County Democratic Party-Admin Account or Huron County Safe Place.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer for family and friends at the Pasta House in Kinde. Arrangements are being handled by Champagne Funeral Chapel.
