Jeanne E. Smith Vella Pavia

Jeanne Elizabeth Smith Vella Pavia of Caro, age 67, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Jeanne was born November 3, 1956 in Cass City, the daughter of Beverly Jeanne (Warren) Smith and the late Donald LeRoy Smith. She attended Caro High School, night school in Marlette, and went on to Delta College. Jeanne worked as a resident care aide at the Caro State Hospital for twenty-eight years, retiring on January 1, 2011. She loved everything about antiquing, crafting, reading, and gardening.

Jeanne leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of twenty-one years, Jerry Pavia; her two children, Jeremie (Sally) Vella and Jennie (Lester Halifax) Rickard; stepdaughter, Jessica (Casey) Blissett; many grandchildren, one great-grandchild; mother, Beverly Smith; siblings, Karen Smith, Brenda Smith, Donald (fiancé, Daniel Blaha) Smith, Jeff (Teresa) Smith, and Lesley (Rob Jensen) Smith Hicks; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Jeanne was preceded in death by two of her children, Angelika Elizabeth Vella and Carey Lee Vella.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Jerry Pavia, 205 West Sherman St., Caro, MI 48723.
