Jeffrey E. "Grub" Hoover

Jeffrey E. Hoover of Millington, age 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, June 21, 2020. Jeff was born March 21, 1962 in Saginaw, the son of the late Donald Eugene & Dolores (Withers) Hoover. He spent over forty years as an over-the-road truck driver for several companies. Jeff was naturally creative and had many interests that included drawing, painting, woodworking, cooking, gardening and canning. He also had various collections of pocket knives, lighters, stamps, coins, and sports cards. Jeff was a natural people person and was almost always happier in the company of others. Left to cherish his memory are one daughter and her husband, Paige & Robert Rushlo of Caro; three grandchildren, Logan, Lauren, and Olivia Rushlo; his fianc, Cassie Curtiss of Ann Arbor and her daughter, Makenzie Curtiss-Coutz of Saginaw. He was one of thirteen children and leaves his siblings and the families of Donald E. Hoover, Jr., Linda Zwerk, Sally Clink, Kathy Mazola, Dan Hoover, Robert Klein, Roy Klein, Debbie Spencer, Cindy Damm, Velma Whitehead, Carl Hitchman, and Mike Hoover; many nieces and nephews; his former sister-in-law, Michele Filkins and her family that Jeff loved as his own. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, friend, and the mother of his daughter, Mary Hoover in 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the Caro Assembly of God Church with Rev. David Dietzel officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Hoover Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Paige Rushlo, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
