Jennie M Buchalski

August 15, 1922 — July 20, 2016

Jennie M. Buchalski age 93 of Lake Twp near Caseville died Wednesday evening, July 20th, at her home while under hospice care with family present.

She was born August 15, 1922 in Detroit to the late Jozef and Mary (Lorek) Krajewski.

On November 7, 1942, she was united in marriage to Bernard Buchalski at Resurrection Catholic Church, Detroit. She and Berny lived and raised their family in Detroit. In 1958, they built a cottage in Lake Twp. and in 1987 they moved there permanently after Berny retired. He preceded her in death, October 10, 2002.

In her early childhood, Jennie belonged to the PRCUA girl scouts known as “Cory” and was a troup leader. Jennie was a very active person and was involved in the community. She was a member of St Roch Catholic Church, Caseville Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Caseville Retirement Club, Caseville Travel Club, a former member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven in Detroit and the PRCUA Society #1313. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and traveling. Jennie was also an excellent cook and baker, always willing to share her goodies. She always had time for family and friends and always made everyone feel welcome.

Surviving are her children, Ronald Buchalski of Sterling Heights, Robert (Gail) Buchalski of Detroit, James Buchalski of Sterling Heights, Teresa Buchalski of Sterling Heights, Gerard Buchalski of Roseville and Bernadette (Rodney) Bechtel of Fresno, CA; six grandchildren, Christiana, Genevieve, Timothy, Stephanie, Lauren and Brendan and two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Nolan.

Preceding her in death were brothers, Mitchell and Joseph Krajewski and daughter-in-law, Deborah Buchalski.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, July 25th, at St. Roch Catholic Church, OLPH Parish, Caseville. Rev. Fr. Robert Pare’ pastor will officiate with burial in St Roch Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wasik Funeral Home, Warren from 1 to 6 PM Saturday with a rosary at 5 PM, Sunday from 2 to 7 PM at Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with Eagles Auxiliary Ritual at 5 PM with rosary to follow. Visitation at the church after 10 AM Monday.
